Everything Cookies

We make cookies almost once a week or so, and these cookies are an excellent way to use up old cereal and snacks. They're basically just regular peanut butter cookies, and then we just throw in a bunch of other stuff we have around the kitchen.

Like I said, it starts out really easy. One cup butter, one cup sugar, one cup brown sugar, two eggs, tsp vanilla. And a half cup peanut butter to make them hearty, and also to give the cookie a strong combining flavor.

Tonight we also added raisin bran...

As usual we added chopped nuts. We just had some peanuts and almonds mixed together. We chopped them up and toasted them really quick. We also had some flax seed that we added. Lastly, we had just a handful of frosted mini wheats with strawberry inside that we chopped up and added. Yum!
These cookies always turn out amazing and they're super filling. They're also fantastic with some chocolate chips, but we munched up all the chocolate chips earlier, before making the cookies. If you're ever looking for a simple dessert to fill you up these are a super delicious option. (And I like to pretend they're healthier than normal cookies, since the nuts and seeds add a healthy protein punch!)

Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone!

This is the start of something new, an experiment perhaps. After considerations by both of us on the topic of starting a blog we decided that together we might try it and have some fun. Since neither of us participate in Facebook this is a great way for our families to keep up with us.

One of the most important things we want to blog about: food!
We love making food together and Justin is so good at cooking! Tonight for instance we have prepared a chicken casserole thing with some rice and peas and sauce that Justin made earlier, just for fun! It turned out delicious and it was super filling. yum.
